Explorers to construction science (intro class)
This hands-on introduction of construction fundamentals is designed to spark curiosity and confidence in students. Participants will explore building concepts through fun, age-appropriate projects using real tools in a safe environment.
Students should attend at least one Explorers class before signing up for more advanced classes.
3rd - 5th grade: Thursday, September 24
6th-8th grade: Monday, November 9
9th-12th grade: Thursday, November 5
shop classes
Students will learn how to build, repair, and restore all kinds of projects using real tools and practical skills. From crafting useful items to fixing broken ones, you’ll discover how things work and how to make them work even better. If you love tinkering, making, or bringing ideas to life, this class is the perfect place to unleash your creativity!
Students should be familiar with power tools to take this class.
6th-8th grade: Tuesdays 9/22, 9/29, 10/6 (all 5:30 - 7pm)
9th-12th grade: Mondays 10/5, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2 (all 5:30 - 7pm)
home wiring class (advanced)
Learn the fundamentals of electric circuits and how electricity travels from power plant to home, then get hands-on wiring for appliances, lights, and ventilation. Students build circuits, test wire gauges and breakers, and create working parallel circuits. Perfect for future engineers, electricians, or the curious.
6th-12th grade: Thursdays 10/22, 11/19, 12/3, 12/10 (all 5-7pm at Williamson County Ag Expo Center)
Students get hands-on with the basics of plumbing: pipe, fittings, and how a real water system moves from source to fixture. They'll measure, cut, and assemble a working setup, then test it to see if it holds. It's problem-solving, precision, and a first look at a trade that never runs out of work.

intro to metallurgy (3 session class)
This class breaks down the fundamentals: metal types, properties, and why some bend, some break, and some hold under pressure. Students get hands-on with real material and learn how heat, force, and technique change what metal can do. A solid foundation for anyone eyeing fabrication, welding, or machining.

November 10, 17, & December 1 from 5:30 - 7:00pm

ladies night!
This after-hours session puts women in front of actual trade skills with no prior experience needed. You'll handle real tools and learn the fundamentals the pros use. Come curious, leave capable. Great for a night out that actually teaches you something.
